Angel Fund
On any given day, our veterinary team can encounter various situations with pets in many different states and stages of life. We may see a bouncing puppy one moment and then turn around to perform a wellness screen on a healthy older cat. Our team may educate pet owners about proper ear cleaning and allergies one minute and then deal with a life-and-death emergency the next. But this is all just in a day’s work at Woodland Springs Veterinary Hostpital. Our team is educated, trained, and experienced in all veterinary matters. Most of the time, finances are not a major factor when we make decisions regarding pets’ health care. But, every once in a while, it is not uncommon for people to fall on hard times and need a helping hand. While we are not a rescue group or humane society, our veterinarians sometimes have to face very sick patients whose owners simply do not have the financial means to help them. That is why we started the Angel Fund in 2008.
The concept of the Angel Fund is very simple. It is for our clients who are experiencing a difficult time with their finances when their pets are in desperate need of medical care. Pets that qualify for inclusion in the Angel Fund will be chosen on a case-by-case basis where, without intervention, they will most likely face euthanasia. A Woodland Springs staff member will have to nominate qualifying pets so our veterinarians can resolve the issue at hand. Some of the pets we have helped in the past include a dog with a broken leg, a cat with a severely infected abscess, a dog that was hit by a car and a dog whose hip would not stay in its socket. We use the funds donated to the Angel Fund in conjunction with discounts from the veterinarians at our hospital to help these wonderful pets.
